The World of Crata Velden
The Crata Velden novels and shorts are each unique, and with a few small exceptions, follow different characters. They are stand-alone stories in a shared world. (See below for best reading order)
The Tyranny of Shadows is the first Crata Velden novel. It follows Gillis, Amelia, Roos and Choson. Their story ends with Tyranny.
The next instalment isbe Death of the Tree Path, available now here. There you will meet Riekalt, Kyu-Sen, Laester, and Merriah. The story of these characters ends with Death of the Tree Path.
There will be more in the future. In fact, there could be an infinite number if I keep getting ideas! There are places and people in the world where magical forces are expressed in great concentration, and with each book a new facet of these forces will be explored. Tyranny explored the Momaentum magic of the Mordenari. Death of the Tree Path explores the healing magic of the village Aurora—and the terrible price of its absence. Still more instalments will explore the mysterious wandering lights of the Wittewolders who make their home in the frozen north.
The stories bleed into each other, if only just a little. Villagers of the Tree Path might mention Mordenari in passing. Mordenari might speak of a place where the trees tower unnaturally high above the ground, and of the people there who walk among the trees. And, from time to time, latter books in the series might spoil details from earlier books, so my recommendation is to read them in release order. (This will be made clear in as many places as I can.)
What I want to do with the World of Crata Velden is create a continuous world with a long and dynamic history, but be free to explore new characters and locations. If you would explore it with me, I would be very grateful.
